Seja is an independent label that supports the ideas behind the DIY scene with a focus on indie, electronic and experimental music.

Hi! This is Seja: A visual and auditory reminder of the beauty of life!
It all started in the seventies with a fascination for punkrock and the "No Future" attitude those days. Much later I studied at ‘Utrecht School of the Arts’ and I renewed the interest in my old records. One day I could lay my hands on a box of old punk vinyl records and that pointed out to be the beginning of a dutch-punk/wave record collection. It wasn't only the music (sometimes it sounds real horrible) but also the love of the artistic expressions which were part of the scene. Having said that I realised being involved into some kind of obscure music scene more and more. Inspired by some real good small and independant labels I decided to contribute things myself with no other reason than to enjoy and celebrate the beauty of life.

Seja is an absolutely independant, friendly and quite stubborn label. We focus on contemporary music, often with roots in the past, on high quality vinyl and support the ideas behind the DIY scene. That’s why we press in limited editions (low quantity with high spirit) and preferably on vinyl. Seja is not interested in doing re-releases of old obscure music. I would like to encourage bands to come up with great and new material.

Talking about the ecological footprint people leave on this earth; we are interested in positive traces people leave around. With TRACES we bring you artists and musicians who leave their cultural footprints... cultural traces. Traces to feed the imagination.

For this reason we started a free paper journal on art and music. With Traces we give attention to interesting visual art and music from around the world. We do this on paper so you can get away from the computer screen and relax and sit back comfortable and enjoy the printed words. With TRACES we will leave some cultural traces for you to find, follow and nourish...

TRACES is for free, or available for just postage costs, at some selected independent record shops, webshops and art galleries. Below is a list of where to get TRACES.

TRACES was founded in 2010 and is run by M. from Enfant Terrible (content) and J. from Seja (content & design). The first issue appeared in March 2011.
